T-shirt Necklace!

Last weekend my brother Jim, sister in-law Rachel, and beautiful niece Ella came to Wayland to visit. During their visit I noticed Rachel was wearing an awesome unique necklace. I mentioned how much I liked it and she told me that her Aunt had made it for her from one of Jim's old t-shirts. I was so intrigued by it, I wanted to make one! So here it is!!

Step 1 - I went to the store and bought a $5 t-shirt. I was originally looking for a tie dyed one for something fun however I settled for a gold/yellowish Hanes shirt. I wear a lot of black and decided this would be an awesome pop of color.

Step 2 - I cut strips about a half of an inch about half way up the shirt. After which I strung all of the strands together and stretched the group out as much as possible.  And Duke helped!

Step 3 - I doubled up the strands and took an extra piece and wrapped it around the top and tied it off so that they would stay together.

Finished Product!! I love it! A great idea for a Christmas gift for your girlfriends or secret santa!! It definitely will not be the last one I make! Enjoy! Let me know if you make one too!!
