Easter Beer Mug Basket

Since I'm heading to Kentucky to meet my nephew Charlie for Easter I decided to leave behind an Easter basket for Chris.

I used my Cricut Mini to create a stencil out of vinyl. Then I used Armour Etch to do the glass etching. I added some little nicknacks, a funny t-shirt, little run bottles, little wine bottle and some treats. I know the beer mug will get most of the use!!

I great easy, cheap (depending on what goes in it and what materials you already have) and reusable gift. What creative Easter baskets have you created?

Oh and Chris's nickname since he was a young boy has been Rooster. Everyone knows him as Rooster :-)

Easter!!

Easter has gotten me back in full craft mode! My niece has recently moved to Arizona and got her first puppy, Kane! So I decided to send them each an Easter gift.

Ella's blanket was my very first time top stitching and doing an appliqué. But a lot was learned! I'm still not the best sewer but I think it turned out pretty well for my first time!! I love the fabric and thought the puppies were appropriate! Mailing it out today so if you see this don't tell her about it :-)

I even got Kane a little gift :-) enjoy an please leave comments or pictures of your blankets!!

Suitcase Cat Bed

I have recently became obsessed with vintage suitcases and have tried to think of ways to re-purpose them. Well my dog recently gave me the opportunity as he had destroyed our cat's bed. So I decided to turn a suitcase into a cat bed. She had been laying on a blanket since the destruction of her current bed so that had become her safety blanket which helped us introduce her new bed to her. She has loved it all winter.

I went to Lowe's and purchased furniture legs and mounting brackets for about $45. I could have bought cheaper legs but I loved the ones that I paid a little more for. I added some fresh paint to them and attached the brackets and legs. For what the legs were being used for I could have probably forgone the brackets but you live and you learn and you get buyers remorse but in the end I loved how it turned out. I added and pillow and her safety blanket and she got right in!

She is also currently on a diet as our last vet visit was not what we wanted to hear. She is currently 17.9 lbs and her target weight is 10!! She is now on an all wet food diet and we watch her closely as she loves to snack on the dog food! A month in and I think we are making slow but good progress!! Fingers crossed for good results!

Enjoy & feel free to share any of your vintage suitcase projects!!

As always, don't forget to be awesome!
